As the head of Curtis L. Coonrod & Company, Curtis Coonrod is a certified public accountant (CPA) who focuses on local government units in Indiana. Curtis “Curt” Coonrod assists clients with fiscal affairs and helps them deal with regulations imposed by state agencies. If you’re a CPA, marketing your firm effectively allows you to attract more clients.

First, update your personal and company LinkedIn profiles for SEO. According to figures shared by web marketing expert Neil Patel, 80 percent of B2B marketers state LinkedIn is the best place to find leads. By adding crucial keywords, such as “CPA” and “accountant,” to your profiles, you increase the chances of potential clients finding you. Keeping your profile active by regularly posting status updates and written pieces also demonstrates that you’re available and creating a consistent stream of content that enables more people to find you.

Second, don’t focus on your abilities as a CPA or the services you offer when marketing. Your potential clients need to know all of these things when making their choices. However, their primary concerns relate to how you can help them with a need or challenge. Instead of describing what you do in your marketing, focus on how what you do helps your clients. How much money will working with you save them? How much money could they make with proper accounting? Answer these questions to ensure your marketing relates to your potential clients’ needs.
